柑橘やパイン、アップルといった鮮やかな果実感が広がる風味は、従来のバリコーヒーとは一線を画します。また、アーモンドミルクのようなとろみのある質感と、スムースな後味が全体を優しく包み込みます。
現在はウォッシュドのロットのみの輸入ですが、今後はハニーやナチュラルといったプロセスにも挑戦中。まだ幼さの残る表情の中にも、品質向上への強い意志と情熱を感じさせるワナ氏。これからのバリ・スペシャルティを担うキーパーソンとして、今後の展開に期待が高まります。

Produced by 22-year-old I Wayan Wana, it showcases bright citrus, pineapple, and apple notes with a smooth, almond milk-like texture. This washed-process coffee is a shining example of what the next generation of Indonesian coffee can offer.
Kintamani Washed: A Promising New Generation of Bali Specialty Coffee
Bali, Indonesia, has long held a place in the Japanese coffee market. Though popular in earlier years, many Bali coffees were known for their muted acidity and lack of cleanliness. As a result, their presence in specialty markets declined. Enter the new generation: the Kurtina Estate in the Kintamani region, led by a remarkably young 22-year-old producer, I Wayan Wana.
This washed-process coffee breaks from tradition, offering a vibrant and juicy profile. Notes of citrus, pineapple, and apple dance across the palate, accompanied by a creamy almond milk-like texture and a smooth, clean finish. It’s a cup that redefines what Bali coffee can be.
Wana's commitment to quality shines not only in the cup but in his approach. While this year’s imports feature only washed lots, he is already working on expanding to honey and natural process coffees. Although his youthful face reflects his age, his focus and ambition mark him as a key figure in the future of Indonesian specialty coffee.
